Back in the days before jewelers knew how to create or work with white gold or platinum, they would set stones in sterling silver for its white color backed by yellow gold for stability. Since sterling silver tarnishes over time, what we see today is a blackened or “antiqued” finish. This silver and 18k yellow gold sparrow pendant is set with 0.64 ct of single-cut diamonds and carries a dangling old European-cut diamond (0.25 ct) from its beak.
